Supplier terms, without the phone call

How small an order we will run, how long it takes, and what a roll measures — on one page. These are the terms for stock gauges; anything else is confirmed in the quotation.

Terms

The commercial facts a buyer checks before the first call — answered here, so the call can be about the line rather than the terms.

Quoted for stock gauges and standard widths. Wider, thinner or otherwise non-standard film is confirmed in the quotation, together with the documents it carries.
Item Value
Minimum order, ALOX BOPP 1 roll
Minimum order, ALOX PET 1 roll
Minimum order, metallized PE (VMPE) 1 pallet
Lead time measured by width 10–15 days

Dimensions

Parent width, outside diameter and core are the three numbers that decide whether a roll fits your unwinder.

Maximum width is the parent web; every roll is slit to the width on the order. Standard roll length is nominal — the lot data sheet carries the measured length of the roll that ships.
Grade Standard roll length Max width Max OD Core
ALOX BOPP 6,000 m 3,000 mm 440 mm Ø76 / Ø152 mm
ALOX PET 8,000 m 3,000 mm 440 mm Ø76 / Ø152 mm
VMPE (metallized PE) 3,700 m 3,000 mm 440 mm Ø76 / Ø152 mm

VMPE thickness

VMCPE, seal layer standard
40 µm
VMCPE, seal layer made to order
50–80 µm
VMNCPE, barrier core
40–100 µm per order

Capacity

Coating, metallizing and slitting run inside one works, so the slit roll and the base web it came from share a lot history.

Rated annual capacity. What a given month can take is confirmed with the quotation, not assumed from these figures.
Line Rated capacity
AlOx coating 16,000 t/year
Metallizing 12,000 t/year

Documents

What ships with a sample, what ships with a roll, and what is issued on request. Ask for the pack with the sample rather than after the trial.

Technical data sheet

One per grade: thickness, barrier values, the test method and the condition each value was measured at.

Certificate of Analysis

COA per roll, carrying the measured thickness, width, length and barrier of the lot that ships.

FDA compliance

Written food-contact compliance statement for the grades supplied, issued with the grade sheet.

EU 10/2011 migration report

Migration test report to EU 10/2011, issued on request for the grade and the food-contact condition you are qualifying.

How an order starts

A film is qualified on a machine, so the path from an A4 to a running order is short but not skipped.

01 · Sample

Ask for an A4

Free, at your gauge and construction. It arrives with the grade sheet, so the barrier numbers have a method beside them.

02 · Trial

Run a roll at your width

Once the width is fixed, the sample roll is slit to it and ships with its dimension sheet. You run print, lamination or seal on the line that will run production.

03 · Qualification

Put the lot on record

The trial lot becomes the reference. A repeat order carries the same dimension sheet and lot data, so the second roll can be compared with the first.

Ask for terms on your width

Send the gauge, the width and the quantity you expect to run. The reply comes back with the lead time for that width and the documents that go with it.
